LabelRows for Google Sheets™

Mailing labels and name badges from your sheet.

LabelRows turns spreadsheet rows into a Google Doc laid out for a standard sheet of labels, including Avery®-compatible sizes. Open it, print at 100%, done.

Features

Simple to set up. Private by design.

Holiday cards, mailings, shipping, name badges and file labels, straight from the list you already keep in Google Sheets.

14 label sizes

Letter and A4 address, shipping, return-address and mini labels, plus name badges. Sizes are compatible with common Avery® products such as 5160, 5163, 5395 and L7160.

Write the label once

Type the label with {{Column}} fields, listed right under the text box. Suggest from headers writes a starting layout from address-like headers, and lines whose fields are all empty are left out.

Print only some rows

Use a checkbox column, for example “Send card”, print a range of rows such as 2 to 40, or select rows on the sheet and choose Selected rows.

Free test page and nudge

Print one numbered, outlined test sheet on plain paper and hold it against your labels. If your printer is slightly off, nudge the layout by up to half an inch.

No access to your other files

LabelRows uses Google's drive.file permission, so it can open only the Docs it creates. It never sees your other Docs or Drive files.

Fonts that fit

Eight fonts, 5 to 36 pt, left or centred, top or middle, and an optional bold first line. If text doesn't fit a label, LabelRows shortens it and tells you.

How it works

Three steps to a printed sheet.

  1. Pick the label size

Click the LabelRows icon in the side panel on the right of Google Sheets and choose the size printed on your label box.

  2. Check the label text

Write or adjust the text with {{Column}} fields. A preview shows the first label.

  3. Create and print

Click Create labels to get a new Google Doc. Open it and print with File → Print at 100% scale.

Privacy

It can't open what it didn't create.

LabelRows asks Google for access to only the spreadsheet you have open and to only the Google Drive files it creates (the label Docs). It reads the rows of the sheet you pick and writes the labels into a new Doc in your Drive. It cannot see your other Docs or files, and nothing from your sheet is sent to or stored on Cellbrook servers. LabelRows itself makes no web requests at all: no license check, no tracking. Read the privacy policy.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is LabelRows available now?

Yes. LabelRows is on the Google Workspace Marketplace. Install it from its Marketplace page for free, then open it from the side panel on the right of Google Sheets. LabelRows Pro isn't on sale yet.

How do I open LabelRows?

In Google Sheets, click the LabelRows icon (an orange tag) in the side panel on the right. If the side panel is hidden, click the small arrow at the bottom right of the window. The first time, click Authorize access and allow LabelRows’ two permissions. You only do this once.

Can LabelRows see my other Docs or Drive files?

No. It uses Google's drive.file permission, which lets it open only the files it creates itself: the label Docs. It cannot list, open or change anything else in your Drive.

Will the labels line up with my label sheets?

The layouts follow the published dimensions of each size. Printers differ slightly, so print the free test page on plain paper first, hold it against a label sheet in front of a light, and use the nudge setting if it is a little off. Always print at 100% scale (“Actual size”).

Is LabelRows made by Avery?

No. LabelRows prints on standard label sheets, including sizes compatible with Avery® products. Avery is a registered trademark of Avery Products Corporation, and LabelRows is not affiliated with or endorsed by Avery.

Where does the label Doc go?

Each time you click Create labels, LabelRows makes a new Google Doc in your Google Drive, named after the sheet, the label size and the date. It never changes your spreadsheet.

Does LabelRows send my addresses anywhere?

No. The rows go from your spreadsheet straight into the new Google Doc, all inside Google. Nothing from your sheet is sent to or stored on Cellbrook servers. See our privacy policy.
